November was a crazy busy month, but it turned out to be (for the most part) really good.

To start with, my JET Programme application is in and processing.  The application process was crazy, but it is over now.  I got two great letters of recommendation and I wrote what I hope is not too cheesy of a statement of purpose.  I think that I have a fair chance of getting in, but only time will tell.  I am really hoping that I get to teach at a university or collage in a major city (I met a guy who taught at a nursing collage in Osaka), but I will be fine with where ever they put me (if they take me at all).

Working is picking up quite a bit and I am starting to get more and more hours.  Which is a good thing because I just had to replace my alternator on my car.  Last Wednesday on my way home from a friends house the charge battery light came on.  After much testing and fiddling I discovered that the pigtail connector that connects the alternator to the fusible link was loose so the tightened it up and hoped that was the end of it.  Unfortunately it was not, and for the last week the light will occasionally turn on and then turn back off.  I went and got my alternator tested and it turned out that it was giving up the ghost.  So I had it and the pigtail connectors replaced.  Cool thing is, the alternator that was in there was the  factory installed alternator, which means it lasted for almost 20 freakin' years!  Man, Toyota knows how to make a car.

That is all the news I can think of right now, I will likely be putting up some pictures soon (yeah, I know I know, I have said that before) and will try to update my journal more often.  If I do wind up in Japan then I think I will turn this into a photo blog about my time in Japan.
