I found this somewhere and have decided that it is worth passing on.

I am sure many of you have already heard about the new riots in Tibet. If not in Tibet than I am sure that you have heard about any one of the multitudes of places in our world where there is violence. As a simple response to this violence, this hatred, this inhumanity, I had decided to put forward a simple prayer. I intend to send this out by as many means as I can muster.

If you have stumbled across this prayer, I hope that you will help me. If you believe in a Divine Power, whatever you may call it, please join with me in this simple supplication to that Divine Power. I have chosen to call this being God, please feel free to substitute the name you use. If you do not believe in any Divine Power, then I ask simply that you join with me in the sentiments behind this prayer. This is a cry for peace for all humanity.

"God, I beg of you. Bring us peace.
Help us to remember what it means to be human.
Help us to remember that the greatest aspiration of all humanity is peace not war, love not hate.
Help me to spread compassion.
Help me to spread love.
Help me to spread peace.
Help me to remember that we are all one.
Help us to end oppression.
Help us to end violence.
Help us to end degradation.
God, I beg of you. Bring us peace.
Amen, Āmīn, Selah, so be it."

And now I beg you to help me with one more task. This message is not simply one for God; it is a message for all humanity. Please spread this prayer, and with it its cry for peace, wherever you can, especially in places where violence or hatred or oppression is prevalent. If you are able to translate it into another language, please do so. It is true that all that evil requires to win is for good people to do nothing, but by the same token, all that good requires to win, is for good people to do something.
